Custom pieces

My boss has a new-found fascination with my wire work.  Every day that I'm at work he brings me a freshly finished cab (cabochon) and says, "Wire wrap this!!! It would look so good wrapped!"  So, I have! Check out just a couple of pieces that I've finished...

Above is Petrified Dinosaur bone with opal, wrapped in copper (Sold for $45)
Variscite wrapped in copper ($100)

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving so I can get some of my projects done :)

HOPE Fest re-cap

Sorry guys, I never posted about how awesome the HOPE Festival went for me.  I was initially disappointed, as it didn't seem like I sold that much, but I made a pretty chunk of change. :)  Yay!

Here are a couple pictures of my table:
From the front
And a full length view of my table

As you can tell, I wasn't selling just my stuff. I had stuff from another lady.

One really super awesome pendant that I barely had time to take a picture of is this one here:
Kambaba Jasper, wrapped in silver (sold for $40)
(Kambaba Jasper is also known as Crocodile Jasper
and was originally found in Madagascar)

I was honestly just putting the finishing touches on this pendant when a co-worker was looking at my table. She didn't seem impressed by any of my other pendants, so I showed her this one. Her eyes got wide, and she said she wanted it. So, I told her to come back in 10 minutes (to give me time to finish it) and that she could have it for $40. WHOOO!  I was so stoked!   I have access to these stones, so I could make another, but by request only (honestly, it was kind of a pain in the ass to make, and I had help from my boyfriend to make the frame around the stone).

I was also considering having a booth at our local Novemberfest, but when I contacted the organizers about it, there weren't any booths available. I was told to contact them in April of next year! Wow, I didn't realize the tables went so fast for it. Oh well, so much for that...

Different trees...

These could all be worn as necklace pendants, but the three large trees would also look great dangling from a rear-view mirror in a car (you can sure bet I have one hanging in my 4runner!)

The frame for each pendant is colored aluminum wire. The purple and green wire forming the actual tree is purple/green 20g wire. The black wire (as pictured in the smallest blue tree) is plastic coated 24g wire.

Lots of changes!

Hey everyone, thank you for visiting!

I've now added multiple pages to this blog. Check out the Tree of Life Gallery (which I will be adding to, and updating tonite) , the Earrings Gallery, and soon I will post a Memory Wire Gallery.

Please let me know what you think of all these awesome changes. :)

Halloween Beads

A few days ago I checked on the shop where I have most of my jewelry posted for sale, and they got in a shipment of Halloween beads, and... I totally splurged...

Check it out:

And the first finished pair of earrings from that pile 'o stuff is:

(Sorry that the quality of the image is crappy, I was in hurry)
They are bat charms with black onyx beads.

These earrings turned out awesome, and I had this image in mind when I made them:

Inspiration

I got my inspiration for this pendant

Gotta get busy!

I'm nervous about selling my stuff at the HOPE festival, and have started cranking out some earrings. I don't even know how much stuff I should make to have on hand. EEEP!

This is what I made today (during back-to-back-to-back shifts working in the library. UGH-never doing that again!)

Sorry, the quality of the image isn't super fabulous....

HOPE festival fundraiser for CAPSA

This past week I received a random email from one of my mom's coworkers, seeking vendors to sell at the HOPE festival on October 27th. (For more info about the HOPE festival, click HERE)

I'm really excited to participate in this, as it will be my first time setting up a booth and selling my stuff. WHOO!  Also, this event will support our local CAPSA office (all vendors are donating 25% of their sales to CAPSA)

So if you are local, please attend this event to support CAPSA, as well as the SAAVI office on campus.
The festival will run from 10am to 7pm in the Taggart Student Center Sunburt Lounge (2nd floor)

And 10 pairs of new earrings

And 10 new pairs of earrings.

A new wire wrapped stone

I really like how this tree turned out!
The larger tree on the left clearly shows the tree. The inset image compares the size to a quarter.

3 Memory Wire Bracelets

Whipped up a few bracelets this past week.

The blue and purple one is all glass beads. The middle one is a double stranded shell bracelet. The white one has small plastic 'pearl' beads.

Happy Birthday Sister Dear

My older sister asked me to make a matching bracelet and necklace for a pair of earrings that she picked out from my stash.
Here are the earrings:
Here is a picture of the necklace:
And the bracelet, with a closer view of the middle of the necklace:

The necklace has a magnetic clasp, so if either of her two little ones yank on it, it'll pop right off, no big deal.  The bracelet is memory wire, so again, if either of the tykes tug on it, it'll just uncoil and slip off her wrist. Also, the bracelet has no things hanging off that could get caught on the kids or clothes. And no sharp points on the danglies on the necklace.  These will be about a month late, but I was waiting for an idea for the necklace to come to me. And... I think they turned out great :)

Hemp Necklace

In May of this year I was dragged across the country by a friend, who spent the summer living in South Carolina. While on that trip I visited a smoke shop and came across the coolest pendant for The Boy (my boyfriend). I finally got around to making a hemp necklace using the pendant.

Let me know what you think...

Earrings

I also went wild with the earrings I've been making. In June of this year I got a clearance bag of beads at Black Market Minerals in Charleston, SC. Best purchase of my life. I totally scored, and all the stuff I made in this post was from beads out of that bag (minus the swarovski crystals, those I got off of ebay ;)  )

Let me know what you think! (in the comments or via email at handmadedanglies@gmail.com)

Everything all together
(if you like a pair, and would like to buy them, contact me at hangmadedanglies@gmail.com)

Some single shots of other stuff...

Light purple flower, with purple swarovski crystal accents

Small brown squares with clear glass beads in the middle
(from clasp to clasp it measures just over 7 and 1/2 inches)

Light blue hearts, wrapped with silver wire, with white swarovski crystals

Tree of Life Pendants

Lately, I've been on a kick and cranking out some really cool Tree of Life Pendants.  I also googled 'Tree of Life Pendant' and about died at the results I got. There are so many different styles out there, that it blew my mind a little bit. I got started, and using this as a model:
(Image found at this site)
(Her Etsy page can be found here, and please, check it out, her stuff is amazing!)

I created my own version, that turned out like this:

I'm thinking that I'm going to need to go out and find some really pretty stones, and do more of these! Here's a link to a page with some really really cool pendants that I'm currently in love with. (The prices kind of gave me a heart-attack, but also gave me an idea of what I could potentially charge)

And some of the other Pendants that I did in the past couple of weeks:
If you would like to purchase one, or have me make you a custom pendant (out of general colors of your choice) contact me at   handmadedanglies@gmail.com   :)

Trees of Life

These turned out so cool.  I use all silver wiring, and the two on the outer edges are different shades of Swarovski Crystals

I've been working on some stuff, and will be posting 2 pendants and probably some earrings within a few days.

Come back soon!
